On the New Year's Eve, December 28, Anatoliy Bondarenko, Mayor of Cherkasy and Oleksandr Cherevko, Rector of the Bogdan Khmelnytsky Cherkasy National University opened two new training rooms for media students — a smart classroom and a multimedia laboratory. The latter is equipped within the framework of a grant project "Erasmus +" named "DESTIN", realized by the Department of Journalism, Advertising and PR-technologies and aimed at improving journalism education in Ukraine.

“First of all, we care about the students' educational comfort, because journalism, advertising and PR are creative professions. The desire to find creative skills appears, in particular, when there are modern technical resources for that,”says Tetyana Bondarenko, Head of the Department of Journalism, Advertising and PR-Technology.

Also within the event Tetyana Bondarenko told about the activity of the department. She noticed that the opening of the classrooms and the work of the teachers was not only a renewal of technical capabilities, but also a profound fundamental change in journalistic education. A large-scale national Erasmus + project is running in Ukraine, which aims to dramatically change the training of media people. Cherkasy University is among ten educational institutions affiliated to the DESTIN project.

Students-journalists were able to put questions to Anatoliy Bondarenko and Oleksandr Cherevko about the possibilities of future employment, plans for the next year and prospects for working with student youth.
